Rep. Andrew Kuzma has announced the allocation of over $1.1 million in grants from the Gaming Economic Development and Tourism Fund (GEDTF) for projects within his legislative district's Allegheny County area. The GEDTF program supports various initiatives aimed at economic, infrastructure, and community development through funds sourced from casino slot machine taxes.

Kuzma emphasized the positive impact these projects will have on local residents and visitors: “Each of these projects will improve the quality of life for residents and visitors in southern Allegheny County,” he stated. He expressed satisfaction with his role in securing this funding, adding, “I’m pleased my advocacy assisted with the funding. I look forward to continuing to fight to address important issues to make the 39th Legislative District a great place to live and visit.”

The funded projects include:

- Elizabeth Township: $205,000 for improvements on Boston Road, including stormwater piping, milling, and paving.

- Pleasant Hills Borough: $208,000 for renovations at Pleasant Hills Public Library, covering roof replacement, window upgrades, and staircase repairs.

- SouthEast Regional EMS: $300,000 allocated for acquiring 12 new power stretchers.

- South Park Township: $450,000 designated for Wilson Park's site preparation and installation of LED lights.

The 39th Legislative District encompasses several townships and boroughs across Allegheny County as well as parts of Washington County.
