Pennsylvania's women veterans have been invited to register for a state Capitol ceremony by May 9, to honor their service. The announcement was made by Senator Devlin Robinson.
The ceremony will take place at noon on June 10. The event will recognize women veterans from Pennsylvania who have served in the armed forces since World War II. Robinson urged participation from women veterans across all military branches.
"As a Marine and a proud supporter of all who wear the uniform, I am deeply honored to help recognize the service and sacrifice of Pennsylvania’s women veterans," said Robinson. "Their courage, strength, and contributions to our nation’s defense deserve to be celebrated, and I encourage all women who served to join us for this special tribute at the Capitol."
The Women Veterans Day Capitol exhibit commenced in 2023 following the enactment of legislation observing Women Veterans Day annually on June 12 in Pennsylvania.
Veterans who are new to the event are encouraged to share their service stories through a submission form. Veterans who participated in last year's display can update their previous submissions.
A virtual display will be available online on June 9 at www.senatorpennycuick.com.
