Senator Devlin Robinson of Pennsylvania has introduced Senate Resolution 34, which designates April 2025 as Community College Month throughout the state. Robinson, representing the 37th District, was joined in this initiative by Senator Lisa Boscola from the 18th District; both serve as co-chairs of the Community College Caucus.
“Community colleges are vital to the next generation of Pennsylvania’s workforce and economy,” Robinson stated. “I am proud to introduce this resolution to recognize the important role community colleges play in our higher education system.”
In Pennsylvania, there are 15 public community colleges distributed across 86 campuses. These institutions are serving over 245,000 students with programs spanning various fields such as emergency services, health care, and technology. In recent years, over 80 new programs have been developed in these in-demand areas.
Robinson is an alumnus of the Community College of Allegheny County, which consists of seven campuses, including the West Hills Campus located in his district in North Fayette Township.
