Rep. Andrew Kuzma announced the allocation of $1.88 million in state funds to support the rebuilding and renovation of Elizabeth Forward High School following a fire in 2023. This funding was secured through the state's Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP).

Kuzma expressed his commitment to aiding the school district: “I have worked tirelessly in Harrisburg since the flames were extinguished to help the school district with the cost of rebuilding and renovating the high school,” he stated. He added, “I’m pleased to be able to deliver this much-needed funding. As an alumnus of the school district, I know what a critical part the school plays in the community. I’m eager to see the project once it is completed.”

The funds will be used for replacing the auditorium lost in the fire and constructing a new gymnasium, both featuring new mechanical systems and ADA compliance. This comes in addition to a $1.6 million Public School Facility Improvement Grant previously secured by Kuzma for replacing damaged HVAC systems and boilers, bringing total funding to $3.48 million.

The 39th Legislative District represented by Kuzma includes various townships and boroughs within Allegheny County and Washington County.
