Rep. Jason Ortitay has announced that $8.5 million in funding has been allocated for improvement projects within the 46th Legislative District. The funds, provided through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), are intended to enhance infrastructure and support economic growth.

“Today’s announcement is a significant boost for our community, providing essential resources to projects that will directly benefit residents,” said Ortitay. “These investments will improve health care facilities, enhance educational resources and promote sustainable economic development. I am excited to see the positive changes these projects will bring to the 46th District.”

The funding is set to support several initiatives:

T&R Properties Inc. will receive $4 million for work on the Cool Valley II development, which includes excavating and grading 250 acres of forest land and installing necessary infrastructure such as water, gas, electricity, and roads.

Canonsburg General Hospital is allocated $2.5 million to temporarily relocate its helipad and heliport for new construction purposes. This project involves site preparation, traffic signal installation, and constructing a combined hospital and medical office structure.

Canonsburg Education and Cultural Institute Inc. is granted $1 million for acquiring and renovating a campus that includes a gymnasium, pool, auditorium, classrooms, and offices.

Blue Sky Acquisition LLC receives $1 million for the Newbury Market Environmental Remediation Project to support site work, grading, offsite traffic improvements, and an underground stormwater collection system.

RACP is a Commonwealth grant initiative managed by the Office of the Budget that supports regional economic, cultural, civic, and recreational development through design, acquisition, and construction projects.
