Rep. Andrew Kuzma, representing the 39th Legislative District, has announced a collaborative effort with Allegheny County Sheriff Kevin Kraus to host an event aimed at assisting residents in obtaining their concealed carry permits. The event is scheduled to take place at the Jefferson Hills Borough Building Community Room on April 6th, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Kuzma expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, "I hosted a similar event last year that was very popular and broke an Allegheny County record with 1,119 people." He emphasized the importance of upholding constitutional rights, asserting, "Law-abiding citizens should be able to exercise their constitutional rights."

To manage the expected turnout, Kuzma advised attendees, "It is usually more crowded in the morning so to avoid a long line consider coming after noon." The event will operate on a first-come, first-served basis, as appointments will not be available.

All interested applicants are required to bring a valid Pennsylvania identification card or driver’s license along with $20 in cash. It is also recommended to bring a completed application to expedite the process, which can be accessed on the sheriff’s website.

In addition to his efforts in Allegheny County, Kuzma mentioned plans to collaborate with the Washington County sheriff’s office in hosting a similar event for constituents in his Washington County district.

The 39th Legislative District, encompassing various townships and boroughs in Allegheny and Washington counties, will benefit from this initiative aimed at facilitating the permit application process for concealed carry.
