Rep. Andrew Kuzma (R-Allegheny/Washington) has announced a $147,000 grant for the city of Monongahela to replace streetlights. The funding, sourced from the Multimodal Transportation Fund under the Commonwealth Financing Authority, aims to enhance economic development and ensure a safe transportation system within the Commonwealth.
Representing the 39th Legislative District, Kuzma highlighted the significance of the project, stating, "While many people don’t immediately notice streetlights when walking or driving down the road, good lighting coming from fresh, new fixtures can help reinvigorate the area." He also expressed his satisfaction in supporting the initiative, noting, "I’m pleased to have been able to support this important project through funding from the 2023-24 state budget."
The grant will specifically target the replacement of streetlights on Main Street in Monongahela, benefiting the residents and visitors of the area. The 39th Legislative District, encompassing various townships and boroughs in Allegheny and Washington Counties, stands to gain from this infrastructure improvement.
