State Rep. Jason Ortitay | Pennsylvania 46th Legislative District
Rep. Jason Ortitay has announced an allocation of $8.5 million for improvement projects in the 46th Legislative District through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP). The funding is intended to enhance local infrastructure and support economic growth.
"Today’s announcement is a significant boost for our community, providing essential resources to projects that will directly benefit residents," said Ortitay. "These investments will improve health care facilities, enhance educational resources and promote sustainable economic development. I am excited to see the positive changes these projects will bring to the 46th District."
The funds will be distributed among several initiatives:
- T&R Properties Inc. will receive $4 million for developing 250 acres of forest-covered land, including basic infrastructure installation such as water, gas, electricity, and road construction for Cool Valley II.
- Canonsburg General Hospital is allocated $2.5 million to temporarily relocate its helipad and heliport due to new construction needs. This includes site preparation, traffic signal installation, and constructing a combined hospital and medical office structure.
- Canonsburg Education and Cultural Institute Inc. will get $1 million for acquiring and renovating a campus with various facilities like a gymnasium, pool, auditorium, classrooms, and offices.
- Blue Sky Acquisition LLC is awarded $1 million for the Newbury Market Environmental Remediation Project covering site work, grading, traffic improvements, and installing an underground stormwater collection system.
RACP is managed by the Office of the Budget in Pennsylvania and supports projects that stimulate regional economic, cultural, civic, and recreational development.
