A group of legislators from Pennsylvania is set to announce new efforts aimed at funding the prosecution of technology-facilitated child sexual exploitation and internet crimes against children. The initiative, known as Alicia’s Law, is being introduced by a bipartisan and bicameral coalition.
Key figures involved in this effort include Rep. Jason Ortitay (R-Allegheny/Washington), Sen. Devlin Robinson (R-Allegheny), and Rep. Jessica Benham (D-Allegheny). They will be joined by Alicia Kozak, an internet abduction survivor and founder of The Alicia Project, along with Pennsylvania mothers Lena Hannah and Jill, and Det. Sgt. Chaz Balogh from the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office.
The announcement is scheduled for Monday, June 10, at 10 a.m., taking place at the Capitol Media Center in Harrisburg's East Wing. For those unable to attend in person, the press conference will be available via live web streaming.
