Rep. Andrew Kuzma, representing the 39th Legislative District in Pennsylvania, has announced a collaborative event with the Jefferson Hills Borough Police Department. The initiative aims to assist residents in replacing license plates that have become difficult to read due to weather or age.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 28, at the Jefferson Hills Borough Complex from 9 a.m. to noon. Rep. Kuzma emphasized the importance of this service by stating, "Weather or age can cause the numbers and letters on a license plate to become difficult to read." He added that PennDOT provides replacement plates free of charge once they are certified as needing replacement.

Participants at the event will have their license plates assessed for legibility. If deemed illegible, necessary paperwork will be completed at no cost. Attendees must bring their driver's license and vehicle registration. The new license plate should arrive at the vehicle owner's home within a few weeks.

To attend, residents need to RSVP at www.RepKuzma.com/events. Further inquiries can be directed to Kuzma’s district office at 412-382-2009.

PennDOT defines an illegible registration plate as one where characters cannot be recognized from 50 feet or if there is any blistering, peeling, discoloration, or loss of reflectivity.

The 39th Legislative District includes several townships and boroughs in Allegheny and Washington Counties.
