On Saturday, Representative Andrew Kuzma (R-Allegheny/Washington) led a volunteer group to establish a fishing area for youth and handicapped individuals in South Park Township. The site is located on a decommissioned bridge over Peters Creek.

"My office began working with PennDOT last year on a beautification agreement to make the project a reality," Kuzma stated. "The bridge was covered in graffiti and litter surrounded the area. It's wonderful to turn this eyesore into something positive for the community."

Peters Creek is recognized as one of the most densely stocked trout streams in Allegheny County. Besides restoring the fishing spot, volunteers also cleaned and painted over graffiti on Green Man's Tunnel nearby. Kuzma personally funded all paint and materials required for the project, ensuring no taxpayer dollars were used.

The 39th Legislative District encompasses several townships and boroughs within Allegheny and Washington counties, including Elizabeth, Forward, South Park townships, and more.
