State Rep. Andrew Kuzma | Pennsylvania 39th Legislative District
Rep. Andrew Kuzma of the 39th Legislative District has announced a collaborative effort with South Park Township Police to host an event aimed at helping residents replace illegible license plates. This free service will be available on Saturday, March 23, from 1-3 p.m. at the South Park Township Municipal Building located at 2675 Brownsville Road, South Park.
Kuzma emphasized the success of a similar initiative held last year and expressed hope for continued community participation. "I hosted a similar event last year that was wildly popular and hope people take advantage of this opportunity," he stated. He further explained that weather and age can cause damage to license plates, making them difficult to read. "Many people do not realize they can receive a replacement from PennDOT free of charge. This event will help simplify the process."
During the event, if a license plate is deemed illegible, necessary paperwork will be completed without any fee involved. Participants are required to bring their driver's license and vehicle registration for processing. The new license plate should be delivered within weeks to the vehicle owner's home address.
According to guidelines from PennDOT, a registration plate is considered illegible if one or more characters cannot be recognized from 50 feet away or if there is blistering, peeling, discoloration, or loss of reflectivity.
For additional information or inquiries about the event, individuals can contact Rep. Kuzma’s district office at 412-382-2009.
The legislative district represented by Kuzma includes several townships and boroughs across Allegheny County and Washington County in Pennsylvania.
