Rep. Valerie Gaydos has announced the allocation of $9 million in state funding for improvement projects within the 44th Legislative District. The funding, sourced from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), is intended to promote growth and development in the area.
"This funding is a testament to our commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents in the 44th District," stated Gaydos. "These projects will not only create jobs but also provide valuable resources and facilities that benefit our entire community, which includes students who attend Robert Morris University. I am proud to support initiatives that drive progress and innovation in our area."
The distribution of funds includes $7 million allocated to Robert Morris University for constructing a new 100,000-square-foot ice hockey facility on its campus. This project aims to promote athletic development and enhance student life. Additionally, $2 million is designated for the Allegheny County Airport Authority for work related to the Southfield Business Park. This project focuses on boosting economic opportunities and attracting new businesses.
The RACP, managed by the Office of the Budget, supports projects contributing to regional economic, cultural, civic, and recreational development.
