Senator Devlin Robinson has announced the allocation of over $10.2 million in grants aimed at supporting community and educational projects in Allegheny County. These funds are sourced from the Local Share Account (LSA) and Public School Facilities Improvement Grant (PSFIG) programs.

Robinson emphasized the importance of these grants, stating, "From improving educational facilities to upgrading municipal infrastructure, these grants will have a significant impact on our communities." He highlighted the necessity of backing local initiatives that enhance residents' lives and provide essential resources for schools, parks, and public safety.

The funding targets a variety of projects designed to enhance infrastructure, strengthen public services, and upgrade educational and recreational facilities. Robinson expressed his optimism about the outcomes of these investments: "These projects will improve infrastructure, bolster public services and provide vital enhancements to schools and recreational spaces."

The Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA), an independent state agency overseeing Pennsylvania’s economic stimulus programs, developed guidelines under Pennsylvania’s 2004 Gaming Act for LSA funds. These funds are intended for projects that serve public interest, community improvement, and economic development. The LSA is funded by revenue generated from casinos. Meanwhile, PSFIG supports facility improvements within public school districts and area career and technical schools.
