On June 10, 2024, Representative Andrew Kuzma (R-Allegheny/Washington) spearheaded an initiative to establish a fishing area for youth and handicapped individuals in South Park Township. The project took place on a decommissioned bridge over Peters Creek.

"My office began working with PennDOT last year on a beautification agreement to make the project a reality," Kuzma stated. "The bridge was covered in graffiti and litter surrounded the area. It’s wonderful to turn this eyesore into something positive for the community."

Peters Creek is known as one of the most densely stocked trout streams in Allegheny County. In addition to restoring the fishing spot, volunteers also cleaned and painted over graffiti on Green Man's Tunnel nearby. Kuzma personally funded all paint and materials for the project, ensuring no taxpayer dollars were used.

The 39th Legislative District represented by Kuzma includes Elizabeth, Forward, and South Park townships; Elizabeth, Jefferson Hills, Pleasant Hills, and West Elizabeth boroughs in Allegheny County; as well as Union and part of Carroll townships, Finleyville and New Eagle boroughs, and the city of Monongahela in Washington County.
