Check presentation to support Canonsburg-Houston police merger

State Rep. Jason Ortitay | Pennsylvania 46th Legislative District

Rep. Jason Ortitay (R-Washington/Allegheny) will lead a check presentation to Canonsburg Borough to assist with the costs associated with executing a memorandum of understanding that will enable its police force to service Houston Borough. Ortitay collaborated with New Directions Mental Health to secure the necessary funding.

The event will feature several notable attendees, including Drs. Ryan Wakim and Allison Bashe from New Directions Mental Health, David Rhome, mayor of Canonsburg, Richard Russo, president of Canonsburg Borough Council, James Stubenbordt, mayor of Houston, Larry Scears, president of Houston Borough Council, Nick Galbraith, vice president of Houston Borough Council, Jon Taylor, Houston Borough councilman, and Washington County commissioners Nick Sherman and Electra Janis.

The presentation is scheduled for Friday, May 24 at 10 a.m. at the Canonsburg Borough Building located at 68 E. Pike St., Canonsburg.
