Representative Andrew Kuzma from the 39th Legislative District in Pennsylvania has announced a partnership with the South Park Township Police to host an event aimed at helping residents replace illegible license plates. The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 23, at the South Park Township Municipal Building.

Kuzma expressed his hopes for a successful turnout, stating, "I hosted a similar event last year that was wildly popular and hope people take advantage of this opportunity." He emphasized the importance of addressing issues where weather and age have damaged license plates, making it difficult to read the letters and numbers.

Participants are required to bring their driver’s license and vehicle registration to the event. If the license plate is confirmed to be illegible, the necessary paperwork will be completed at no cost, and a replacement plate will be sent to the owner's address in a few weeks.

According to PennDOT, a registration plate is considered illegible if the numbers or letters cannot be recognized from 50 feet, or if the plate displays signs of blistering, peeling, discoloration, or loss of reflectivity.

For those seeking further information, Kuzma's district office can be reached at 412-382-2009. The 39th Legislative District represented by Kuzma includes various townships and boroughs in Allegheny and Washington Counties.

The event aims to simplify the process for residents to obtain replacement license plates and ensure that vehicles on the road display clear and legible registration information.
