Bethel Park Police Dept issued the following announcement on Apr. 22.
It’s Earth Day! Here are some local initiatives for you to consider:
Glass Recycling
Drop off your glass bottles, jars & jugs at a special recycling dumper at Village Square Mall, 5000 Oxford Drive. The drop off is available seven days a week and is a partnership between the Glass Recycling Collaborative of Southwestern PA and the Municipality of Bethel Park along with the communities of Dormont, Mt. Lebanon and Upper St. Clair in partnership with Oxford Development Co.
The site has been averaging seven tons a week with about 39.65 tons of glass collected to date!
Michael Brothers will be delivering all glass collected to CAP Glass in Mt. Pleasant. The program has been made possible by a PA DEP Recycling Grant.
Pennsylvania American Water (PAWC) to Plant Trees for Customers Who Switch to Paperless Billing in April
There’s still time for free trees from PAWC! If you’ve been thinking about going to paperless billing for PAWC, now may be the time to do it! The company is offering to plant a tree for each customer who commits to going paperless this month (April). Trees will be planted in communities served by Pennsylvania American Water. Customers can also request free trees to plant on their property through this initiative! All of this is being done in light of Earth Day on April 22. PAWC partnered with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation on this campaign.
