Rep. Jason Ortitay, representing the 46th Legislative District in Pennsylvania, began his sixth term in office by taking the oath on January 7, 2025. During this session, he has been appointed as the Republican chairman of the newly formed House Communications and Technology Committee for the 2025-26 Legislative Session.
The freshly introduced committee will tackle pressing issues related to the internet, social media, cybersecurity, and other pertinent technology topics. Ortitay expressed his enthusiasm for his new role, stating, "I’m pleased to have been appointed to chair this important committee. Technology continues to evolve at a lighting pace. We need to be prepared to respond to issues and concerns in a timely fashion. I look forward to working with my colleagues to keep Pennsylvania laws up to date in order to address the changing landscape."
The geographical area he represents includes parts of Allegheny County, such as South Fayette Township and McDonald and Oakdale boroughs. It also covers townships and boroughs in Washington County, including Cecil, Chartiers, Mt. Pleasant, North Strabane, Canonsburg, Houston, and McDonald.
