State Senator Devlin Robinson | Pennsylvania
Senator Devlin Robinson, representing the 37th District, has been appointed to the Municipal Police Officers’ Education and Training Commission (MPOETC). This announcement was made following his appointment by Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward.
The MPOETC is responsible for setting certification and training requirements for municipal police officers in Pennsylvania. It also establishes education and training standards for police schools and academies across the state.
Robinson expressed his commitment to law enforcement by stating, "Our police officers risk their personal safety for our communities on a daily basis. I look forward to serving on this commission to ensure municipal police officers receive proper training and have the resources needed to support their critical service to our commonwealth."
The commission is tasked with compiling an annual report for both the governor and General Assembly. This report includes executive and legislative recommendations aimed at improving law enforcement practices and justice administration.
A total of seventeen individuals serve on the commission. These include a legislative appointee along with others approved by both the Senate president pro tempore and the speaker of the House of Representatives. Robinson's term on this board will conclude in 2028.
