Rep. Jason Ortitay of the Republican Party has been sworn in for his sixth term in the Pennsylvania Legislature. He has been appointed as the chairman of the newly established House Communications and Technology Committee for the 2025-26 Legislative Session.
The committee will address issues related to internet, social media, cybersecurity, and other technology concerns. "I’m pleased to have been appointed to chair this important committee," said Ortitay. "Technology continues to evolve at a lightning pace. We need to be prepared to respond to issues and concerns in a timely fashion. I look forward to working with my colleagues to keep Pennsylvania laws up to date in order to address the changing landscape."
Ortitay represents the 46th Legislative District, which includes South Fayette Township and McDonald and Oakdale boroughs in Allegheny County, as well as Cecil, Chartiers, Mt. Pleasant, North Strabane townships (Districts 6,7,8 and 9), and Canonsburg, Houston, and McDonald boroughs in Washington County.
