HARRISBURG – Sen. Devlin Robinson (R-37) has announced that more than $2.3 million in grants is being awarded for local transportation improvement projects in the district. The grants, awarded through Commonwealth Finance Authority’s Multimodal Transportation Fund, aim to encourage economic development and ensure a safe and reliable transportation system for the residents of the commonwealth.
"These initiatives are truly remarkable. They will enhance connectivity by revamping streets, renewing public stairways, improving sidewalks and more," said Robinson. "Each of these projects will significantly enhance pedestrian experiences within our district, providing convenience and safety for residents and visitors alike, as they enjoy the diverse amenities and support local businesses across different areas of our community."
The Multimodal Transportation Fund awards may be used for the development, rehabilitation, and enhancement of transportation assets, streetscape, lighting, sidewalk enhancement, pedestrian safety, connectivity of transportation assets, and transit-oriented development. The Commonwealth Finance Authority (CFA), established in 2004 as an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, administers the commonwealth’s economic stimulus packages.
Robinson recently hosted a grant workshop for municipal leaders to learn about funding and resources available to communities through the CFA.
