HARRISBURG – Communities in the 44th Legislative District are set to benefit from a significant funding injection for infrastructure improvements. Rep. Valerie Gaydos (R-Allegheny) revealed that Moon and Crescent townships will collectively receive over $678,000 in funding from the Multimodal Transportation Fund Program following approval from the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA).
Expressing her satisfaction with the allocation, Rep. Gaydos stated, "I am pleased this funding has been awarded to our communities." She emphasized the importance of pedestrian safety by pointing out, “Studies have shown that roadways without sidewalks are more than twice as likely to have pedestrian crashes as sites with sidewalks on both sides of the street."
The specific breakdown of the grants includes $127,400 for Leet Township to install sidewalks on six streets, $300,800 for Moon Township to replace the West End Avenue stairway, and $249,900 for Crescent Township to replace sidewalks on McGovern Boulevard.
The CFA, functioning as an independent agency of the Commonwealth, maintains oversight of funding programs and investments aimed at fostering economic growth in Pennsylvania.
