Rep. Jason Ortitay has announced the allocation of over $312,000 in Gaming Economic Development and Tourism Fund (GEDTF) Program grants directed towards projects in the McDonald and Oakdale boroughs. These projects aim to address local development needs in Allegheny County, with funding sourced from the tax assessed on casino slot machines. The GEDTF supports economic, infrastructure, and community improvements, in addition to job training and public safety initiatives.

"Both of these projects will address local issues," stated Ortitay. He emphasized the collaboration with Sen. Devlin Robinson in making the Oakdale project possible. "This project is part of a multi-pronged approach to mitigate flooding in Oakdale. In addition, the McDonald project will improve East End Park," added Ortitay.

In McDonald, $120,000 will be allocated for development and security upgrades at East End Park. Meanwhile, the Oakdale project will receive a $192,363 grant to stabilize the Clinton Avenue stream bank with riprap and stone.

Ortitay represents the 46th Legislative District, which includes South Fayette Township and the boroughs of McDonald and Oakdale in Allegheny County. The district also covers several townships and boroughs in Washington County.
