Rep. Jason Ortitay will present a check to Canonsburg Borough to support the costs associated with implementing a memorandum of understanding for its police force to serve Houston Borough. The funding was secured through collaboration with New Directions Mental Health.
The presentation will include notable figures such as Drs. Ryan Wakim and Allison Bashe from New Directions Mental Health, David Rhome, mayor of Canonsburg, Richard Russo, president of Canonsburg Borough Council, James Stubenbordt, mayor of Houston, Larry Scears, president of Houston Borough Council, Nick Galbraith, vice president of Houston Borough Council, Jon Taylor, a councilman from Houston Borough, and Washington County commissioners Nick Sherman and Electra Janis.
The event is scheduled for Friday, May 24 at 10 a.m. at the Canonsburg Borough Building.
