Rep. Andrew Kuzma has announced the allocation of $1.88 million in state funds to assist in the reconstruction and renovation of Elizabeth Forward High School, which was severely damaged by a fire in 2023. This funding is part of the state's Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP).

Kuzma expressed his commitment to supporting the school district, stating, "I have worked tirelessly in Harrisburg since the flames were extinguished to help the school district with the cost of rebuilding and renovating the high school." He added, "I’m pleased to be able to deliver this much-needed funding. As an alumnus of the school district, I know what a critical part the school plays in the community. I’m eager to see the project once it is completed."

The allocated funds will be used for replacing the auditorium lost in the fire and constructing a new gymnasium, both equipped with new mechanical systems and compliant with ADA standards. This comes on top of a $1.6 million Public School Facility Improvement Grant that Kuzma helped secure for replacing damaged HVAC systems and boilers, bringing total funding efforts to $3.48 million.

The 39th Legislative District represented by Kuzma includes various townships and boroughs within Allegheny County and Washington County.
