Rep. Andrew Kuzma, representing the 39th Legislative District of Allegheny and Washington counties, has announced an event to assist residents in obtaining concealed carry permits. The event will take place on Saturday, April 6, at the Jefferson Hills Borough Building Community Room from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Kuzma is collaborating with Allegheny County Sheriff Kevin Kraus for this initiative. "I hosted a similar event last year that was very popular and broke an Allegheny County record with 1,119 people," Kuzma stated. "This year, I hope to set another record. Law-abiding citizens should be able to exercise their constitutional rights."

Attendees are advised that mornings tend to be busier; therefore, visiting after noon might reduce wait times. Kuzma also mentioned plans to coordinate with the Washington County sheriff’s office for a similar event for his constituents there.

Applicants must bring a valid Pennsylvania identification card or driver’s license and $20 cash. Bringing a completed application is recommended to expedite the process; it can be downloaded from the sheriff's website at www.sheriffalleghenycounty.com. The event operates on a first-come, first-served basis as no appointments are available.

The 39th Legislative District covers several townships and boroughs in both Allegheny and Washington counties.
