Rep. Andrew Kuzma has announced a grant of $147,000 for the city of Monongahela to replace streetlights. The funds are provided by the Multimodal Transportation Fund, managed by the Commonwealth Financing Authority. This initiative is part of state economic stimulus efforts aimed at promoting economic development and ensuring a reliable transportation system.

Kuzma commented on the significance of the project, stating, “While many people don’t immediately notice streetlights when walking or driving down the road, good lighting coming from fresh, new fixtures can help reinvigorate the area.” He expressed satisfaction in supporting this project through funding from the 2023-24 state budget.

The replacement will focus on streetlights located on Main Street in Monongahela. The 39th Legislative District includes several townships and boroughs across Allegheny and Washington Counties.
