Rep. Jason Ortitay has announced the allocation of $1.03 million in Local Share Account (LSA) grants for projects within the 46th Legislative District, facilitated by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA). The funding is derived from gaming revenues as stipulated by Act 71 of 2004, which aims to support public interest projects across Pennsylvania.

Ortitay expressed satisfaction with the secured funds, stating, “I’m pleased my advocacy for these projects paid off. Each will address a crucial need. The improvements to our area parks, in particular, will enhance the community’s offerings for many residents.”

The distribution of funds includes:

- Chartiers Township receiving $375,000 for a new section of pressure sewer installation in Arden Mines.

- Houston Borough awarded $136,900 to upgrade traffic signals at Main and Pike streets and Pike Street and Western Avenue intersections.

- McDonald Borough allocated $185,000 for enhancements to Heritage Park, including ADA-compliant bathrooms and a band shell.

- Mount Pleasant Township granted $336,787 for updates to buildings and equipment across four community parks.

The 46th Legislative District covers areas in Allegheny County such as South Fayette Township and McDonald and Oakdale boroughs. It also includes parts of Washington County like Cecil, Chartiers, Mt. Pleasant townships along with Canonsburg, Houston, and McDonald boroughs.
