As the Pennsylvania House of Representatives remains embroiled in a partisan struggle, Representative Valerie Gaydos (R-Allegheny) has issued a call for elected officials to refocus on their responsibilities to the citizens of Pennsylvania. Gaydos emphasized the importance of bipartisan cooperation in light of recent electoral outcomes.

“When we bicker about who is in charge, the real losers are the people who entrusted us to be their voice in Harrisburg,” said Gaydos. She underscored that despite election results, "we remain a split government."

Gaydos highlighted several pressing issues facing Pennsylvania, including crime in Philadelphia, drug trafficking by cartels, and challenges faced by employers due to high taxes and regulations. She stressed the necessity for unified efforts to address these problems.

“We must work as one body to take on these tough issues, and the time is now,” she stated. Gaydos expressed that her priorities align with those of her constituents in Allegheny County. Her agenda includes promoting economic growth, supporting small businesses and domestic energy production, reducing regulatory burdens, lowering taxes, and enhancing educational opportunities.

Additionally, Gaydos intends to pursue legislation on affordable health care, landslide protection insurance, reducing legislative size, eliminating inheritance tax, and curbing government expansion. “I have always insisted on reaching across the aisle because of my deep belief that only bipartisan efforts will stand the test of time and best serve our Commonwealth’s needs,” she affirmed.

Representative Valerie Gaydos serves Pennsylvania's 44th Legislative District. For further information or media inquiries, contact Rick Leiner at 717-260-6437 or rleiner@pahousegop.com.
