In Harrisburg, Rep. Valerie Gaydos announced the allocation of nearly $1 million in state funding for various community improvement projects within the 44th Legislative District. The funding, secured through Local Share Account (LSA) grants, aims to enhance safety, transportation, infrastructure, and water quality.
“These grants will go a long way in many areas to help promote improvements in security, water systems, infrastructure and safety,” stated Gaydos. She emphasized the importance of investing in local communities to stimulate business growth and job creation. “I support all efforts to rejuvenate our area.”
The approved local grants include:
- Bell Acres Borough will receive $169,976 for replacing aging equipment such as a backhoe, commercial mower, and police car.
- Crescent Township is allocated $209,000 for installing security cameras at ten Creswell Heights Joint Authority-owned locations across Beaver and Allegheny counties.
- Leet Township is granted $94,600 to replace an existing water line along School Street with a new system.
- Moon Township will use $460,155 to develop a final design plan for Montour Run Road and Market Place Boulevard aimed at future commercial development.
- An additional $55,000 is designated for Moon Township to purchase a new boiler system at the Valley Ambulance headquarters building.
These grants were approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA), an independent agency responsible for managing programs and investments that contribute to Pennsylvania’s economic growth. The LSA grants are funded through gaming revenues.
