Upper St. Clair School District is hosting a hiring event for custodians and food service workers from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28. 2022, in the Upper St. Clair High School nutrition center. Interviews will be conducted on-site for part-time, full-time and substitute positions.
The district is recruiting full-time regular and substitute custodians. The annual salary for regular custodians ranges from $33,575 to $54,162, depending on prior work experience. Custodians are eligible for overtime and receive annual salary increases July 1. In addition, regular employees are eligible for medical, dental and vision insurance as well as retirement and other benefits. Most custodial positions follow a 2:30-11 p.m. shift during the school year and switch to 7 a.m.-3 p.m. during the summer. Substitute custodians earn $15 per hour.
There are immediate openings for part-time and substitute nutrition center workers. The starting pay for regular workers is $13.61 per hour and $13 per hour for substitutes. These positions are ideal for anyone with children in school as the work schedule follows the school calendar. In addition to nights and weekends off, food service workers receive three paid personal days. Training will be provided.
“Our intent is to hold on-site open interviews for these hard-to-fill positions,” Ray Carson, senior director of operations and administrative services, said. “It is likely that qualified candidates will receive immediate feedback including an invitation for a second interview or job offer.”
All offers of employment are contingent upon the candidate successfully completing all onboarding requirements including background clearances, letters of reference, medical/drug test results and other required paperwork.
In May 2022, Upper St. Clair School District was named the top school district in Pennsylvania, according to the 2022 School Guide published this week by the Pittsburgh Business Times.
