Benjamin Franklin Elementary School recently issued the following announcement.
Bethel Park School District is committed to helping keep our entire school community healthy throughout the flu season. That is why it has partnered with Spartan Pharmacy to provide a pair of flu vaccination clinics later this fall; one for our staff and their families and another for our students and their families. Please complete the attached interest survey, so we can properly prepare for the event.
Flu Clinic Dates/Times:
- District Employees Clinic: Oct. 29 (11 a.m. until 4 p.m.) – Bethel Park High School Large Group Instruction Room
- District Families Clinic: Nov. 1 (8 a.m. until 2 p.m.) – Bethel Park High School South Gymnasium
This year, getting a flu shot is as important as ever, as the CDC has reminded us that you can be infected by both COVID-19 and influenza simultaneously. Also, many of the symptoms associated with the flu are also commonly associated with COVID-19. Protecting your family from the flu will help prevent the transmission of influenza in our community, aid in the continuation of in-person instruction, and safeguard our healthcare systems.
To participate in either clinic, you must complete Spartan Pharmacy’s Vaccine Consent Form and provide a copy of your health insurance information during registration. Spartan Pharmacy is able to accept most major insurance plans. Again, to help Spartan prepare for the clinic, please complete this brief survey.
If you do not have health insurance, you may still get a shot at a cost of $40 each. Also, the Pennsylvania Department of Health offers flu vaccines to those who are uninsured and underinsured. Those interested in receiving a flu vaccine through one of their clinics should call 1-877-PA-HEALTH (1-877-724-3258) to learn more.
Please join us and help keep our students, families and the entire community healthy and flu-free this season!
