Clark Testing announced on Apr. 20 the commissioning of a new Spectral Dynamics SD-44000LS3-650 Electrodynamic Vibration Shaker System at its Pittsburgh headquarters and dynamic test laboratory. The company said this installation is one of the largest electrodynamic vibration systems on the Eastern Seaboard, expanding its testing services to include high-frequency vibration capabilities.
The addition of the SD-44000 allows Clark Testing to support engineers and designers with advanced vibration simulation in line with Defense, Transportation, and Industrial standards such as MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-167, RTCA DO-160, IEC 61373, and EN 50155/50122. This move is expected to help industries like Defense, Rail, Power Generation, Automotive, and Aerospace ensure product reliability under extreme conditions.
“This investment represents more than just equipment. It’s a strategic step forward. By adding the shaker table to our mix, we’re positioning ourselves to reach new markets, serve a broader range of customers, and drive the next phase of our growth,” said Paul Heffernan, Clark Testing CEO.
The project was completed in collaboration with Allegheny Strategy Partners (ASP). With support from Pennsylvania State Senator Devlin Robinson—a lawmaker who has supported initiatives for veterans, first responders, law enforcement personnel, small businesses and healthcare access according to the official website—Clark secured a $500,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Economic and Community Development for funding. The Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission also provided financial assistance for acquiring the system.
“Adding this piece of cutting-edge equipment to the Clark Testing campus will only enhance their abilities to service their impressive roster of existing clients as well as reach new markets across various industries and create jobs,” said Senator Devlin Robinson.
Robinson represents parts of Allegheny County in Pennsylvania according to his official website. He maintains district offices in Pittsburgh and Wexford along with a capitol office in Harrisburg; he also chairs the Senate Labor and Industry Committee while serving as vice chair of Transportation Committee according to his official website. Robinson continues a four-generation family tradition of military service.
